populardays releases 'December Song' as a single to their upcoming debut album.

After their long hiatus, the group decided it was time to get back out there and now that they feel a deeper connection to their music and influences, creating nostalgia by fusing the 90’s British pop sound with early shoegaze, new wave and some Swedish indie pop.

'December Song', the band's first material written back in 2001, showcases what populardays is all about. The ambient, ethereal rhythm and mellow vocal harmonies blend into creative shimmering guitars, producing a beautiful, mesmerizing arrangement.
While the words talk about missing someone who’s no longer there, you don't need a broken heart to appreciate the melancholic melodies of the song. December Song really begs to be absorbed, from beginning to end.

"I will remember you, 
And all the things we do, before
I will remember her,
And all the things she said,
Now she’s gone."

When asked for the reason of the song title, Erick recalls the story of one cold, starry night of jamming with the boys after a breakup. Feeling emotional and creative at the same time, the words and the music simply flowed. He says, “A lot of people initially think it’s a Christmas song. But it’s actually a love song for the lonely one.”

populardays have succeeded in blending shoegaze and dream pop worlds, surrounding their listeners with spacious textures and glimmering soundscapes. So when you're looking for that nostalgic music fix or if you're feeling insomniac at 3 AM with the need to escape to a dreamy state, look no further than this Manila-based band.

The populardays debut album becomes available early 2014.
